This is a COPY of Issue 442: Tons of duplicates and errors when using the WordPress plugin, filed on Google Code before the project was moved on Github.

Please review the original issue and especially its comments. Comments here on closed issues will be ignored. Thanks.

Original description

**What steps will reproduce the problem?**
1. Install Yourls
2. Install the plugin
3. Browse the site?

**What is the expected output? What do you see instead?**
I didn't expect for Yourls to import all my Wordpress posts, but thought it was a nice touch, until I saw all the error messages instead of link titles.
It seems every time the site is loaded, URLs are sent to my yourls installation (not sure).
I now have 3 times as many short links as I have blog posts.

By looking at the logs, I can see that yourls tries to insert the same links several times in a row.
[13-Aug-2010 21:39:31] WordPress database error Duplicate entry '11111' for key 'PRIMARY' for query INSERT INTO `49dks_url` VALUES('11111', 'http://something', 'Error: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 57758 bytes received', '2010-08-13 21:39:31', 'ip', 0); made by require, require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, wp_shortlink_header, wp_get_shortlink, apply_filters, call_user_func_array, wp_ozh_yourls_wp_get_shortlink, wp_ozh_yourls_geturl, wp_ozh_yourls_get_new_short_url, wp_ozh_yourls_api_call, yourls_add_new_link, yourls_insert_link_in_db
