1. Enable the Copy Geodata Meta Fields setting.
2. Edit a post with a location.
3. Update the location and click save in the location editor.
4. Now click Update for the whole post.
At step 3 the new location is saved, but step 4 (maybe only if the custom
fields form is shown) re-saves the old custom field values, which then are
copied back to the post location.

This issue was updated by revision r1203.
When the copy geodata setting is on, and geodata fields are present,
the editor is reloaded after saving a new location, which loads the
new custom field values and prevents the old ones from being re-saved.
