What is VirtualTwitter?

VirtualTwitter is a little Tool which continuously polls the Twitter search for updates on given words or searchterms. If there are any it pushes them to the notification deamon. It's written in Ruby and GTK.

You can use it as live-ticker for example.

If you click on the status icon you get a menue with the last ten tweets. You can click on a tweet and it will open in your favourite browser.

The original idea was TwitterJunkie which is unfortunately available for OSX only.

Download and installation

Version 0.3

Download is available as source Tarball. See installation for instructions.

You have to remove version 0.2 before installing version 0.3!
