Introduction
IntroductionHistoryThe concept for this game originally came from a networking extra credit project that dail8859 and GreenArrowDB had come up with. The project had taken ideas and code from two of their earlier labs: a 2-player tank battle game (dail8859’s) and a 2-player maze-race game (GreenArrowDB’s). Elements from both had been brought together to create U.A.T.E.P.V2. (The ‘prototype’). This new game had terrain objects, four-player functionality, multiple map selection, and a buddy save system as the key features included. The Next StepAs the project progressed it took on a more personal meaning for the creators. Both became more excited about working on the project and turning it into something far better than the prototype completed for the class. It is at this point things go from curricular to extra-curricular. Throughout the next semester both creators became very restricted on time however, and so while ideas had flourished there had been no real progress in actual implementation. The PresentIt is at this point that the project can be found; ideas and features have been thought up and are ready to be coded. Development continues to further enhance the original idea. Deadlines are being set (and hopefully met) on the project and results will be posted as they develop. The GoalThe goal of this project and the project team to create a fully featured game. Of course the most important thing is for the game to be fun, but also to help us as developers improve our skills and gain knowledge. | |
