| Issue 9: | Characters in portuguese shown differently | |

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Get my tweets 2. 3. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I write in portuguese. So I expected to see our special characters, as I see them at my Tweeter client. But, instead, for instance, of "avião", I got "avião". Instead of "Você toma pílula", I got "Você toma pÃlula?" What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Please provide any additional information below. Is that UTF-8?

Actually I suspect it may be possible to make the CSV file UTF-8 encoded but I haven't yet had time to investigate, sorry.

I agree with DebFromBC. This is a Windows configuration or excel.

Try this (it worked for Chinese & there is an option for Portuguese) https://code.google.com/p/tweetake/issues/detail?id=17#c1

The problems with characters outside the basic English character set should now be fixed as the code translates what is received from Twitter into UTF-16 (Excel's preferred Unicode representation) before download.
