Introduction

This experiment develops code for Tuttu's motor control.

Requirements

Depending on inputs from a set of line sensors, the robot should move forward, backward, right or left.

The DC Motor

The DC Motor can rotate in either direction, depending on the polarity of the input.

+ - Direction
+ + break
+ - clockwise
- + anti-clockwise
- - break

Truth Table - Motion control

Left Wheel Right Wheel Direction
Forward Forward Forward
Forward Backward Right
Backward Forward Left
Backward Backward Backward

Details

L293D

  • is Quadraple Half H-bridge Drivers from Texas Instruments
  • can drive two dc motors or one stepper motor.
  • can drive loads upto 1200mA and 36V.
