Feel free to leave comments on how the tribalwars library can be improved. |
I'm glad this part is present. Well here are my suggestions:
-In option number four, if it is possible, can you split them in platoons but group them according to their location [NE, NW, SE, SW in this case]?
-I've also noticed that when choosing option number 2, it can only display up to 35 villages, it looks something like:
points: 1422 rank: 15451 area of influence: {'quadrant': 'SE', 'points': 1422, 'num_villages': 1, 'contin ent': 23}
id: 1851333 name: XXXX tribe id: 10852 number of villages: 1 points: 2039 rank: 10665 area of influence: {'quadrant': 'SE', 'points': 2039, 'num_villages': 1, 'contin ent': 15}
rest below are normal, the problem is just that it doesn't show everyone?
that's all for now.
I've thought about grouping the results from option 4 by location, but was waiting to see if someone else thought it would be useful. I'll be implementing that soon.
As far as your other concern, it seems like you aren't giving your screen buffer enough space. That's why you can't see all of the output. Are you using windows? If so, click on the icon in the upper-left corner of the command prompt window and open up the properties. Go to the layout tab, find the Screen Buffer Size area, and increase the value of Height to a larger value (mine is at 9999 - the max value). Note: that a larger value requires more memory, but that shouldn't be a problem with most computers these days.
It works now thank you.
Glad it works.
I just released a new version (0.7.8) which lists the platoons by region, as opposed to the previous alphabetical listing. Grab it on the downloads page.
Great job. It works as you say. So, just wondering, what updates do you have planned?
Well, that really depends on the type of feedback I get from people. I've considered creating a GUI for it, but that might take more time than I'm willing to give right now. My personal motivation was to create something that would automate splitting my tribe into platoons and create a library that others could build on. That's more or less been accomplished. Still, I'm willing to continue adding worthwhile features as requested.
can you compare 2 data files to know if your tribe/player has advancent and export is directly into bb-codes?
I'm a little confused about what you're asking. What do mean by "advancent?"
sorry for me poor English i mean advancements
how much a tribe has grown how much a player has grown
Ok, sure. But what exactly would you want exported into bb-codes? The player's name or the tribe's name, if they've grown in points? I don't really see the point in using bb-codes here...
if you use bb-codes you can copy it on tw-forum.
the bb-codes i will program
will you help me to make the 2 different time village/tribe/ally been compared?
so i can see how much me tribe / players are grown?
To be honest, this doesn't seem like something that would easily fit into the tribe intel script. What you're asking for involves a lot of external dependencies, such as: are the older data files still on the hard drive? If so, where are they? Will this always be the same for every user? If the tribe intel script was a full-fledged program with a nice UI and everything, then this could more easily be added.
To me, what your suggesting is a good idea, but better suited for another Python script. Alternatively, you could simply save the tribe/player data as CSV files, and then compare past CSV files with the new CSV file.
that is what i mean . you not always override your old file , but you download east time a new one. with a time stamp and the you compare those 2 files:
- how much points the player is rease - how much points the tribe has rease - how much village the player/ tribe has nobled since the last download
but i have now idee how i must program this.
I'm glad that you have an idea on how to program this.
As I said above, I'm not adding it because I don't think it's a needed feature, and can easily be worked around using the CSV files. But definitely feel free to do this yourself. If you'd like, you can email me (skawaii at gmail dot com) with questions and/or the code when it's done. Just keep in mind that I am busy with other things, so I may not always be able to reply right away. +)
i don't now how to program it
but i will give it a shot
good job on the script. I find it very usefull
why not use SPE to develop a GUI i think they use wxpython which is easy to use..
check out this code base for how easy it is to use wxpython http://www.nmichaels.org:8080/tribalcalc/tribal.py
Thanks for the link, aboulia. I've actually taken a look at that program before. Like I said on my website, I'm working on making a GUI with Qt. I've just gotten busy/lazy lately and haven't made progress on it. Hopefully I'll be able to find some time in the near future to continue working on it.
very cool program. I know php pretty well. I was thinking this sort of thing would be fun to make on a website. I think i might be able to make the csv comparing feature in php for a website. I would have a file upload for old file and new one. Then just use some foreach loops on each tribe or player. Then go through the other file and compare the difference and save the differences to an array and then print the differences to the screen.
@stokescomp Sounds cool, go for it.
