A lightweight but feature-rich WSGI-compliant Python web framework based on Werkzeug. Why?I know there are too many. I was getting increasingly frustrated with Django (which is absolutely excellent but sometimes too restrictive), then tried many others. The most interesting were Svarga and Glashammer (both Werkzeug-based like Tool) but both had numerous problems. Each problem could be solved with some effort. However, I was unsure if my vision was correct, so I started experimenting on my own. My goals are: - find and test better alternatives for some design decisions I encountered in other frameworks;
- obtain a handy tool for my own projects.
I do not know yet whether Tool is going to be a mainstream framework, a "3rd-world" framework with a small community or an individual tool. Frankly, I don't care much. I just want to make a better tool for myself and then see if others find it good. For now it's better than any other framework I tried so far (for me) but it lacks many features so it simply cannot be compared to a full-fledged product like Django or Pylons. Suggested technology stackWerkzeug + WTForms + PyModels + Jinja2.
