Test case for creating a new account

From the log-in screen, the user clicks on the 'New User' button.

  • New window pops up, prompting the user for information (ie. First Name, Last Name, etc.)
    • The user must fill in all of the fields
    • User presses the 'Create' button to continue
    • If any fields are left blank when the button is pressed:
      • Dialog box appears showing error message: 'All fields must not be blank'.
      • User clicks on 'OK' button
      • User is again prompted to complete all fields
      • If user presses to close button (top-right corner of window):
        • Create New Account screen is closed
        • Log-in screen is redisplayed
    • If user enters an already-existing username:
      • Dialog box appears showing error message: 'User name already in use'.
      • User clicks on the 'OK' button to close the dialog box
      • Create New Account window is redisplayed, prompting user to enter correct information
    • If user enters different passwords for the 'Password' and 'Repeat password' fields:
      • Dialog box appears, showing error message: 'Passwords do not match'.
      • User clicks on the 'OK' button
      • Create New Account window is redisplayed, prompting user to enter matching passwords
    • If user fills out all fields AND enters matching passwords AND enters a non-existing username:
      • Dialog box appears, showing success message: 'Your account has been created'.
      • User clicks on the 'OK' button
      • Log-in screen is displayed
      • User is prompted to log in by providing his/her username and password
