January 9th Meeting

Time: 11:30 - 12:15, Room 3315

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Came up with team name
    • team agreed on the name "TVK"
  • Planned schedule for future meetings
    • team meetings will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11:30-12:30
    • Locations are to be decided

January 11th Meeting

Time: 10:30 - 12:15, Room 3370

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Set up team website
    • established team information, license, and assignment pages
  • Decided each assignment's Project Manager
    • see Project Manager Schedule on the Project home page
  • Finished "Problem Description" part of the Vision and Scope Document
    • determined the project background, stakeholders, users, risks, and assumptions
  • Brainstormed for target users and possible themes on which to base the software
    • identified preschool children and teachers as potential users
    • central theme was decided to be "Sesame Street"

January 14th Meeting

Time: 11:30 - 12:30, 4th Level Study Area

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Continued Vision and Scope Document
    • created Architectural diagram
    • created a list of features that the software will/will not implement

  • Created diagram outlining all required documents and activities

January 16th Meeting

Time: 11:30 - 12:30, 6:15 - 6:45, 4th Level Study Area

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Discussed Friday's presentation

  • Changed theme from "Sesame Street" to "Brainiac"
    • same vision and scope still hold

  • Discussed feasibility of project
    • more benefits than there are costs
  • Updated website contents

January 18th Meeting

Time: 9:00 - 9:30, Library

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Organized presentation for Assignment 1

January 21st Meeting

Time: 11:30 - 12:30, Room 2300

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Brainstormed for GUI layout

  • Discussed the concept of having Administrator account for teachers / parents
  • Divided Assignment 2 workload

  • discussed possibility of meeting with users
  • clarification on requirements and desired features
  • each member carried on with his/her own work

January 28th Meeting

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Discussed assignment 2 details with T.A.
  • required format for tutorials
  • possible use for use-case scenarios (i.e. for intended audience, tutorials, etc.)
  • updated team on each member's progress

February 11th Meeting

Time: 11:30-12:00

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Looked over Assignment 3
  • Assigned tasks
    • Interface (Tim)
    • User Manual & Design Documents Update (Kristina & Vanessa)

February 15th Meeting

Time: 11:00-12:00

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Meeting with TA regarding Assignment 2
  • Notes:
    • tutorials -- have table of contents
    • what happens if a buddy gets removed?
      • how would this affect user profile and data
      • recommendation: use a directory structure
    • update technical guidelines -- more specification on how software is going to be developed (i.e. implementation rules)
    • create a sequence diagram to define required methods
    • provide a diagram for the features
    • change state diagram -- looks more like a context map than a state diagram
    • add individual buddies to UML diagram (even if they are blank)
    • dataflow diagram for buddy plug-in

February 18th Meeting

Time: 12:00-12:15

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Review of discussion with TA

February 27th Meeting

Time: 11:30-12:00

Accomplishments during meeting:

  • Status updates
  • discussion on Java Swing
  • discussion on User Manual/Design documentation changes
