Please can we get an events calendar on our website and/or our intranet
which will hopefully help our member groups with their events planning for
next term, so they can avoid clashing events. According to GroupSpaces we
can do this by copying and pasting this line of code into the HTML source
where we want the calendar to appear: <script type="text/javascript"
src="http://cambridgehub.groupspaces.com/api/api.js?wid=6"></script><noscript><a
href="http://cambridgehub.groupspaces.com/calendar">View
Calendar</a></noscript>

This would help people digest the info and then we can also bring together
department speakers lists.

If we could make this a google calendar (like the student husb pipeline)
then people could download it from the website and always have all the good
stuff going on to see either at the website or at their own gmail account
(if they use it)

Andy's reply to this:

You could either use our embedded calendar direectly or iport the data to Google
Calendar via the iCal feed. You could provide a link for people to sync with the iCal
feed directly off groupspaces
You can create an "add to google cal"buttons etc with this as the link. I've never
actually done this so let's check how it works first!

Our first big clash of the term is just about to happen. Hands up for Darfur and
RAG's Oxford's Got Talent on Wednesday (not to mention the Series). We've got to make
sure groups know about this resource...

All we need to do for this one is make the calendar from this link:
http://oxfordhub.groupspaces.com/whats-on/?format=month

appear on the "What's On" page.

John I've had a look around the back but can't see anything immediately obvious and I
know editing those main pages gets tricky

From Jake:
> have all the charities in colour coded groups (e.g. green for
> the environment, blue for human rights etc) and then have a tab system so
> that if you clicked "human rights" all human rights based events would show
> up instead of just having loads of random events.

When fixed, the calendar will load events inside the iframe. However, clicking events
on the front page will link to the feed item in the hub site. This is acceptable as an
interim solution.

The long term solution is to have the event items on the front page pass the ID
through a URL parameter to the calendar page, where they will be passed into the
iframe. Andy will implement the GS end of this.
