will not launch on 3.0 firmware. attempt to launch, crashes. 2G.

#1 josh.m...@gmail.com
Status notifier works on 3G, however, the app will not launch the settings menu. I
click the button and then it bounces me back out to the spring board.

i have the same problem; not launch; 2g

#3 mathes...@gmail.com
same problem on my iphone 3g running OS 3.0.

pleeeeeeeeeeeease fix this.

#4 james.fg...@gmail.com
I agree with josh.matz, I believe its working because I see a mail icon with unread
email, but when I try to launch the settings from the springboard, the app boots you
out immediately. I love statusnotifier, it's one of my most have jalibroken apps!
Please port to 3.0! (My phone: FW 3.0, iPhone 3G, jailbroken on AT@T)

Yeah, another confirmation, for both the 0.2.10 available on Cydia, and the 0.2.11
from the Google Code downloads section.

For reference I've also included my snippet from syslog.

Is there anyway we can manually mofify the settings? Where are they stored? I've had
a bit of a look through the filesystem
Jun 25, 2009
#8 bas...@gmail.com
same problem, cannot launch the settings
Jun 25, 2009
#9 vae...@gmail.com
according to the wiki tab, settings are stored at
/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.otyo.StatusNotifier.plist

I do not have this file anywhere, probably causing the crash when loading the
settings app for it.
Jun 26, 2009
#10 jim.andr...@gmail.com
I created that file but it didn't help.

It does work the GUI just crashes when you try to start it. But it does work if you
manually create the config file.
Jun 28, 2009
#12 mungush...@googlemail.com
Can someone post the contents/format of the config file please?

#13 amuen...@gmail.com
Is there a fileeditor like VI for the iphone or do i have to create the file via ssh
access? Cause i'm not at home so it would be nice if i could create it manualy.

Download "iFile" from cydia - has a GUI text editor, just change the variables from
<false/> to <true/> of the ones you want.
Jul 1, 2009
#15 amuen...@gmail.com

Okay, File is created but settings are still crashing.
What variable i have to set to true? I set the permissions to 777, owner is "mobile"
but its still not working.

Will hope that they will release a newer version :)

This works for me.

This file was created for me while using the 3.0 firmware, jailbreaking using
redsn0w, installing ONLY cydia (not icy) and installing statusnotifier using cydia.
If the file doesn't exist, then you can use iFile to create it (go to the folder, hit
edit, click the '+' sign in bottom left and name it 'StatusNotifier.plist' with a
regular file type.
My permissions on this file are:
owner: mobile
group: mobile

user: read,write
group: read
world: read
(ie 644)

The app on springboard crashes still, but changing the <false/> to <true/> on
relevant options (such as enableMail) added the notifications to my lock screen.

Hope this helps people :)

Also try enabling "Lock Status" in winterboard (which you may have to install via
cydia - is not installed automatically by redsn0w)

#18 amuen...@gmail.com
Okay, now i understand what you mean but i got the following error if i want to try
to edit the file:

Property-Liste /var/mo...Notifier.plist ungültig. Cannon parse a NULL or zero-length
data

After this i can paste the code and save but its still have 0 byte. So may i have to
try with my macbook at home via ssh.

psyker7 thank you so much!
been needing the file format as the plist was never created on my install
Thanks again!)

#20 amuen...@gmail.com
Now it is working. I had to copy another plist file, so i could save changes in it.
But its not that feature i was searching for so now i use LockCalendar. Its working
fine for me, but thanks anyay

This project has been dormant for over 5 months. Just download notifier from Curia, works great!
