Title: Pylons Turbogears ToscaWidgets Tutorial

Type of Talk: Full Day Tutorial.

Synopsis:

Session1: The beginning of the tutorial will concentrate on getting everyone started with pylons/turbogears2 and establishing a working application. We will then go on to modify database schema and illustrate the powers of the Model View Controller paradigm.

Session2: Will concentrate on using forms to display information to the user and interact with it. Using Toscawidgets we will create rich interactive web-content and present it to the attendees in a meaningful way.

Bonus (If there is enough time): At this point users should have a handle on how to create basic web applications using TG2/Pylons, and we will discuss middleware and show how you can use it to modify your applications wsgi stack.

Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate

Other information: A similar tutorial was done at Pycon this year with a considerable amount of success despite some technical difficulties. This time around we plan to be even more prepared by providing a CD or memory stick with a complete install of all of the materials required to participate in the tutorial.
