Can't Resync Wii Controller (fix or bypass the libogc issue) #21

I know that this was a problem with the original PreLoader and it appears
to still be an issue with Priiloader too. However I think for those cases
where people don't have a GC controller Priiloader should either have a
way of resyncing the controller or be able to move thru the menus just
like BootMii does so that we can get back into the system menu when our
controllers are not insync anymore.

to get syncing to work (as in red buttons) libogc will need to get support for
that
(which it doesn't atm)

also, to have the buttons do shit would mean killing half the stuff it can do
right
now. there is only 1 thing i can do and ill think about it (reset = boot system
menu)

Would something like this work. Instead of holding the reset button to get to
the
menu. Could you add it so that if someone wants to bypass priiloader they press
and
hold the eject button instead to get to the System Menu.

i guess ill force priiloader to autoboot system menu ;)

Ahh Didn't know it had a function. I tried holding it down and it didn't do
anything
so I was assuming you weren't using it.

But I think it would be a good failsafe for those who lose sync and needs to
get
back to the system menu. Luckily gamestop still carries the GC Controllers so I
was
able to go that route ;)

I had this issue borrowing a friends Wii and not getting their controllers. The
system autobooted to priiloader and I was stuck.

Is it possible to do combinations of buttons or sequences. Something like press
reset
while in priiloader or press it twice or something?

If you have priiloader 0.3 installed. Daco added a way to get to the sysmenu
without
needing the GC controller. All you have to do is hold the reset button and wait
till
it gets to the Priiloader screen. Wait 15 seconds and hit reset again and then
it'll
boot to the sysmenu.

If you have 0.2 or below you will have to use a GC controller.

Would it be possible to assign just one button to load the system menu, say push
reset and the system menu loads. Or perhaps a timer, 1 minute in priiloader and
it
auto loads the system menu, or other.

Also is their (or could there be) a system menu booter, like bootmii booter,
that
would bypass priiloader and load the system menu. Then you could use an
alternate
method to load the system menu at boot, with bootmii.

I personally think what Daco did in 0.3 is good enough. Why is it so hard to
hold the
reset button wait 15 seconds then hit reset again?

As far as a bootmii booter. This would require writing your own custom MIOS. I
don't
think anyone wants to take the time on writing a MIOS just to bypass
priiloader. With
that said, if you are stuck on 0.2 or below then the only way to fix is by
going to
gamestop and buying a cheap GC controller for like 10-15 bucks.

no its perfectly possible i think. just load the renamed dol. i guess it should
work :)

but i find it retarded since:

1) 0.3 has the reset to autoboot system menu
2) 0.3 has made default autoboot system menu instead of nothing. so what

Original comment by dac...@gmail.com on 30 Jan 2010 at 8:39

It is retarded, but it seems like it could have two uses. First in some
countries
gc-controles are a litle harder to come by and cost more cash. I only bring it
up
because some had this issue with bootmii installed, but a gc-controller cost to
much.
I paid 5 bucks for mine from ebay, but it is a big world. So with bootmii and a
loader that launched the renamed dol, it would have helped them.

Also I don't know if this has been resolved in the new version, but I boot into
usbloader-gx and return to it. It works great, but if I want to load the system
menu
I have to hold the reset button down, or use the magicword to be able to load
the
system menu. If there was a system menu loader, I could load it right form
usbloader
through its app launcher.

Just a thought, great work on the app. Thank You

you dont even need a damn gc controller anymore with 0.3! <_<

and your so called "usbloader" issue is prob cause you have return to set to
autoboot ;)

You are correct, my return is set to autoboot, as it should, since I wish for
the wii
to return to the autoboot app when exiting the game, such as a usb loader. This
desire has made it difficult for me, and others to load the system menu when
the blue
moon approaches and a rare need is encountered. For this reason it would be very
helpful if there was a system menu loader that loaded the renamed system
menu.dol,
similar to the dol that loads, HBC, bootmii, and priiloader, this would be
great.

Another reason, again I am trying to help someone without a synced wiimote- who
is
not fortunate enough to have 0.3 priiloader and is locked out of his menu. For
some
reason he has bootmii, 3 gc-controllers, but they are failing him. A system menu
loader would help him. Specifically one that would cooperate with an autoboot
bootmii
method.

If you find some spare time, a system menu loader which could bypass
preloader/priiloader would be of benefit and put to good use.

Your time is much appreciated,
Thank you;
MauiFrog

If a GC Controller doesn't work it is 1 of 3 reasons.
1. He doesn't have it plugged into Port #1
2. His GC Controllers are broken
3. His Wii is broken.

what luna said. also, you DO know games can sync wiimotes too right
that and anyone who is now on anything < 0.3 must have a serious issue or a
fucking
good reason not to since its better it ever way.

Yes I know that wiimotes sync in game. I have not tried, but from what I have
read
the sync may only be temporary. The wii is broken, phisically, bad gc ports. I
don't
know why he does not have 0.3, probably beacause most people are stupid noobs
and
don't pay attention or just don't care. But, unfortunatly, I doubt he will be
the
last.

but i recommend he gets a mod chip to autoboot a disc and sync a wiimote

also, depending on how you sync wiis in games they will be perma synced untill
yous
ync them again somewhere else

I suggest when enter priiloader menu, after release rest button. Press rest 5
times,
loading system menu.

no cause the reset doesn't work that way. those 5 presses would get registered
in a
fraction of a second of pressing reset

I'm having a Wii with out-synced WiiMotes because they have been to a friend
this afternoon. Is there any possibility to enter the System Menu? I've tried
by pressing the reset-button. Syncing the /sync-way/.

Is there a way to automatically execute a file to sync my WiiMotes?

using v0.3 r43

im srry you need r47 or higher for the reset the work (cause what you are
running is not the final 0.3 release. and only the final had the reset trick)

you need a gc controller to start system menu and sync a wiimote there is no
other way.

...and why you aren't using 0.4 is a riddle to me...

if you are unable to sync wiimotes in the wiimenu (not priiloader; the system
menu itself) then this isn't my issue unless it works if priiloader isn't
installed

a recent Wii wich has no GC pad ports..)
Thanks a lot again !

Hello, I borrow my Wii to a friend to hack it and when it comes to my house my
Wii Remote Plus can sync in the USB loader GX. As far as I know he did the
hack with the normal Wii Remote controller. Any solution for this?

use the reset trick to boot System menu and sync the wiimote. when synced it
should work. if it doesn't work after syncing in system menu then use a
different loader cause its not compatible with the latest wiimotes.

is there any way you can make it so that priiloader could autoboot? because my
wii's reset button is broken.
