Issue 8: Enter precise value of zoom factor
Reported by skato...@gmail.com, Jul 4, 2007
Some people dislike stylus, like me, but now it's impossible to set
comfortable zoom factor without stylus. The instrument - zoom by rect - is
really dangerous for touchscreen digitizer surface. This instrument even
can't be driven by a mouse emulator. So, there is a need to have a feature
to set precise value of zoom factor - like in Smart DJVU, you know :-) -
not only to select zoom factor by some kind of scrollbar, but also to set
zoom factor by enetering a number.

This is really needed feature - I like your software, but I don't want to scratch my
display using "Zoom by rect" :) It's not a dramatisation - my friend made a scratch
on his PDA, when rotating a 3d-plot by "drag-and-drop" - and this scratch was not on
a surface of touchscreen, but under it - on the glass of LCD-display. I suppose it's
not difficult for you to add the dialog with setting precise zoom factor. Please,
add such dialog :-) Or I'll have to download your Visual Studio solution file and
scavenge in it for several days :-)

And as an addition - is there a possibility to change/extend the behavior of "Zoom
by rect" - not to drag stylus on the surface, but to make two taps - which will be
showing upperleft and lowerright vertices of zoom rectangle? I think that moving
stylus on a surface just to give a rectangle is likely to be redundant.

1) To add the dialog for entering precise zoom factor value is not a big deal.
2) To prevent display scratching there are a lot of special protection films on a
market. It's "must have" accessory.
3) Personally I prefer "pick and click" interface instead of "drag and drop" as well
as you. But it was easily to implement "drag and drop".

Thus thank for your report.
May be in future releases I'll implement the features.

Agree with everything is written - except No. 2 :-) Couse I use PDA for books
reading mostly, I dislike things that make reading more difficult - such as
protective film for display. Besides, once I've tried to apply such a film, but I
couldn't do it without dust befween it and display - even in my office with quite
clear atmospere and lots of air coolers. It's impossible to apply it without dust,
and there is a question after it - what will happen with display, if this peaces of
dust will be pressed by stylus day after day? :-) So, it's very delicate question
actually :-) My friends who said that they could apply such film without dust - are
just quite watchless and not nicety :-) В общем, выкинул 400 р. на какую-то ерунду
от Brando. Лежит теперь в шкафу. ИМХО, конечно, но пленка на экране - это все равно
что очки на здоровые глаза. Огрномная просьба - добавьте, пожалуйста, такой диалог!
