Issue 10: Haptic feedback
Project Member Reported by Jonathan...@googlemail.com, Aug 18, 2008
Pat and some of the MClindent students commented that the haptic feedback
at the initial point of contact between the graphic bur and the enamel
does not seem right. Pat specifically stated that the haptic feedback felt
as if the enamel was made of rubber.

I'm not sure why the enamel should fell more 'rubbery' than the other parts. Can you
verify for me where the problem lies (we don't have a working setup here yet).

I need to know whether the rubbery sensation is mechanical or software in origin.

Please run the simulation and hold the Falcon either on the plastic triangle or
right at the base of the drill connection and try making contact with the enamel.

What I want to establish is if the unwanted sensation is comming from the loose
connection of the drill to the Falcon which we are aware of and will fix in time or
if the sensation is software related, in which case it should still be easily solved
but I will need to fully understand the unwanted feeling before I can remove it.

Pat tried the device last week. She mentioned that the device should relatively not
have stiffness in free air.
