Drilling Sound:

- In the short term for sounds on drilling, Ally will try to intergrate
the sound files he has got on the web and modifly it. We will try to have
the sound implemented within the next 2 to 3 weeks time.
- In the long term for drilling, we would require high quality microphones
and record the drilling down at Guys.

One of the clinicians (Brett) suggested to have an option to be able to turn the
sound off. Please consider this.

Muting/unmuting sound is straight forward.

To add to Brian-
Short term:
Sounds will be very simple, one drill sound which has its frequency and amplitude
adjusted based on the pressure applied to the contact surface.
Longer term:
We would expect to have a recorded sound clip library with better quality recordings
including different materials and possibly different drills.
At some point we should gather a consensus of what the minimum number of
sound 'building blocks' are and arrange to have them recorded.

It's just occured to me that we need to aquire speakers for the systems if we want
to hear something.

Do you want me to order speakers too? Which make? Please provide a specification.

Ally and Brian, who is the owner of this issue? I assigned it to Brian but not sure.
Could someone change the status to accept or started whoever the owner is

Jonathan - Yes, can you order up some speakers please. It doesn't matter much what
they are though aim to spend around £15 for a set of 2.1 speakers for each of the
two development systems to be sure of reasonable quality for testing but I would
expect to be able to spend £5 each if/when we need 20 sets. Examples:

I am going to arrange recording of drilling sound. What format do you require?

Any standard digital audio format is fine. At the very least we need a good length
(5-10s) clip of the drill running freely and not waving around (volume constant) and
as far as is possible a similar length clip of drilling through each material at a
constant pressure.
