It simulates the two-phase oil-water flow in porous media using an edge-based finite volume formulation using parallel computers with distributed memory. An IMPES (IMplicit Pressure - Explicit Saturation) formulation using a Monotone Upstream-centered Schemes for Conservation Laws (MUSCL) approximation was implemented to computer oil production in petroleum reservoirs with 2D (triangles) and 3D (tetrahedra) element meshes. An time-adaptative procedure was also implemented to provide faster results when compared to classical IMPES formulation.
