| Issue 17: | "Edit" link appears on job listing for accounts not authorized to edit | |
| Back to list |
When logged in as volunteer, the job listings have an "Edit" link even though the account is not authorized to edit jobs. I'm sent back to the volunteer profile page with a message of "You must be an OTW committee member to access this page." Should the option be displayed when it's not available? This is under Netscape 7.2 and Safari 1.3.2 on Mac OSX 10.3.9

Yes, exactly--the individual job description page, not the listing of all jobs. Thank you for clarifying; I wasn't specific enough in my initial report. What you describe is what I see, too.

When I log in as 'volunteer', or 'translator' (or a profile for a volunteer that has no 'otw member' and 'volcom' status) the 'actions' column in the job listing it's not there so the drawing of the 'pen and paper' (to edit) doesn't show either. But I see the 'edit' button too, when I select a particular job (clicking on its title). The button is in the bottom right corner of the screen, outside of the box with the job description, it's gray and it's next to the 'Back' button. When I clicked I was also redirected to the volunteer's profile with the small green message ("You must be an OTW committee member to access this page.") on the center top of the page. If it's possible I agree that it would be better if the option would not be there at all if the profile doesn't have status to use it. I'm using Windows XP, and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.12.
