Open Source NetWare Kernel (MANOS) written by the Timpanogas Research Group in Orem Utah and released under the GNU Public License in 2000 and 2001. This is a real time protected mode IA32 kernel that loads from MSDOS or DRDOS and is architected internally like the original NetWare 386 and NetWare 5.X Operating System Kernels. This kernel loads DLL's instead of NLMs (NetWare Loadable Modules). This source archive only contains the primitive MSDOS file system and no lan or disk drivers -- just the kernel sources. This code base is interesting to anyone who wants to understand how the legacy NetWare Operating System was architected. This kernel was written by Jeff Merkey and Darren Major, original authors of the SMP (Symmetricaly Multiprocessing) Novell NetWare kernel.
