What steps will reproduce the problem? I follow the this link: http://nyromodal.nyrodev.com/wiki/index.php/Manually_open_a_modal_using_a_DOM_element to crate a modal using a DOM element manually. 1. Put the TidyPopUpLayer.htm in a test folder 2. Put Jquery.js in the same folder 3. Put jquery.nyroModal-1.5.1.js in the nyroModal-1.5.1/js 4. Browse the TidyPopUpLayer.htm under IE8 or IE6 What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The modal window should show in the middle of the browser window. Instead it show on top of the page which become invisible because the div element is at the end of page. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I am using nyroModal-1.5.1, jquery 1.3.2. IE8 with Win Vista32 and IE6 under Win2000Pro. Please provide any additional information below. The modal and the background works fine under Firefox 3. But not IE.

Glad you finally found the solution on your own. Sorry about the delay, I was on vacation... That's a common issue with IE, you have to set the doctype at the very first line of the HTML file.
