LayerKit
IntroductionLayerKit was basiclly, the old name for CoreAnimation. LayerKit was widely used throughout Mac OS X versions before Leopard, and iPhone/iPod Touch Versions under 2.0' However, UIKit still had no animations, which is why LayerKit had all the animations like oglFlip, genieEffect, unGenie, and more. But in Mac OS X Tiger, QuartzCore started to take over most layerkit animations. Note: In iPhoneOS 1.1.1, LayerKit animation used which was slideUpAnimation in Installer.app was replaced by slideUp, which made Installer 2 useless in 1.1.1 as it crashed, but then Installer 3 ported it for 1.1.1 to 1.2, until 2.0 came.
