I've set up a Custom Search Engine for Jaiku at:
http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=007423114273109421327:g2prl-vr5ow

I'm not sure how often that gets refreshed but if it turns out to be useful we should
consider integrating it into the codebase.

However even if we include the snippet that defines the search form we still have to
find a way to customise it for new instances of JaikuEngine. There's also the problem
that when a new JaikuEngine instance is first set up there won't be any results.

This might be tolerable until AppEngine gets an official search API

Is there any way get this done? or just basic search(not full text)? searching is a very
important feature for microblog system. think about
how life will be without http://search.twitter.com

Since I used it in my small group, the contents
are not public, google custom search is not helpful.

any tips for this? Thanks!

There's this: http://www.allbuttonspressed.com/projects/django-nonrel which seems like it might offer a way to
get full-text search over the posts.

Are we going to have a (contacts, channels, etc) search feature in Jaiku some day?
Thanks.

That depends on this : https://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=217 being fixed.
