Issue 123: Could not update notifications for email

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Clicked on "settings"
2. Clicked on "Select Notifications Options"
3. Clicked the box for "Email Notifications of followers/comments" / then "Change"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Something that stated my change had been updated and I would now receive email notifications.

The page just refreshed itself, and it still states "You are not currently receiving notifications via 
email" in my Settings.


What version of the product are you using? I do not know.
On what operating system? I'm on a Mac OSX using Safari.

Looks like this is one of those intermittent production issues. I'm not able to
reproduce this on jaiku.com or on my local instance built from head. Does this happen
to you all the time?

Have you tried reproducing the problem with a case sensitive user name?

Same thing with me, but It does not say to me that I am receiving email notifications 
and It removes my tick from the email notification settings after the page refresh.
