What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Set up a JaikuEngine instance 2. Create a channel and add a description that uses Cyrillic characters like this: http://www.jaiku.com/channel/ruscm 3. View the channel's description and note that the descriptions are now full of ?? characters. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The encoding of the characters input should be preserved in the output Please use labels and text to provide additional information. encoding

I can confirm it's not happening on newly created channels. See http://www.jaiku.com/channel/testcyrilliccharacters It's sad that the Jaiku team didn't prevent such bugs during import. Should users correct description fields of their channels manually?

We got most of those types of bugs during import, sad that we missed this one, looking into a way to update all the affected channels, though just updating the description manually will do it.
