Issue 14: Feature: group shows by folders
Reported by jerem...@mac.com, Oct 31, 2008
(This one may take a bit of work)

It would be nice to see the list of shows (folders) on the TiVo rather than
the raw list of shows. The parameter that controls this behavior is
'Recurse=Yes|No' If Recurse=Yes then you get the raw list of shows. Each
show in the XML has a content type of video/x-tivo-raw-tts
If you set Recurse=No then you may also get content type
x-tivo-container/folder which indicates a folder. The folder's Title is
that of the Show (nice for subscribing)
Fetching the contents of the folder is done by following the link listed in
the Contents section of the Links in the XML. This URL is of the form:
https://<tivo-ip>/TiVoConnect?Command=QueryContainer&Container=%2FNowPlaying%2F<folder-id>

If folders are supported then if a folder is selected you should be able to:
Subscribe
Queue Folder for Download

This would be a pretty big change in how the gui handles the files (the original code
I'm working with is not very flexible.. so it would take quite a bit of work). But
adding it as a possible enhancement for the future (maybe I should dump the original
code and just write something cleanly from scratch).

Agreed and while you were at it you'd probably want to parse the XML using system events in AppleScript or, if
you must use perl, at least use XML::Simple

This looks like it got implemented, but the issue never got closed. Any feedback?

What version is this implemented in? I just grabbed the later beta (1.7.7b3) from the project and shows still show individually, not grouped into folders.

As an example imagine a TiVo that records the SyFy show Warehouse 13. In the version I have if the TiVo has recorded 5 episodes of Warehouse 13 then I'll see 5 lines in the table, one for each episode. If folders were supported then I would see one folder titled Warehouse 13. Double-clicking on the folder would open the folder and show the 5 episodes.

My misunderstanding. The request here is for folders in the UI.
