What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Downloaded show from Tivo
   a) Format: Apple TV
   b) Default settings (no advanced settings)
   c) import to iTunes not checked
2. Show downloaded and converts with no errors reported
3. When I attempt to open the MP4, I get an error dialog: "Invalid Sample
Description was found in the movie" (see also attached)
4. Attempted twice with same show with same result

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When I attempt to open the MP4, I get an error dialog: "Invalid Sample
Description was found in the movie" (see also attached)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iTivo: v1.4
iMac 2.4 GHz - core Duo
OS 10.5.5
Plenty of disk space, RAM, etc.

This is semi-fixed in the beta (there was a problem with the audio chunk on the
appleTV setting.. it's been switched to 2-channel AAC in the beta). For now I'd
recommend avoiding the appleTV setting though as it seems to be causing issues on the
appleTV devices...

If you do decide to use it, after downloading the beta, make sure to select another
format to reset the settings, and then go back to appleTV

Thanks so much. I'm trying the beta now.

Could you recommend an equivalent/different setting for Apple TV viewing?

Thanks for the great app, BTW.

Do you own an AppleTV?

if not: I'd use iPhone super-res (640x480) if you just want smaller version of
your files for your computer. I'd use one of the quicktime h.264 ones if you want to
save it in its original resolution (HD shows will not play on an appletv though).

If you actually have an appletv and don't mind helping me test (I don't have one),
then use the appletv setting and tell me if things break :)

Yes. I have an Apple TV.

I'll download with beta 1.5b4 with Apple TV setting and let you know how it goes.

Update - Standard Def Transfer
iTivo v.1.5b4 with Apple TV setting downloaded and converted a Tivo file with no issues.
- Plays on Mac via Quicktime
- Plays on Apple TV

Interesting note re: file size.
- Original size on Tivo: 650 MB (as reported in iTivo list)
- New MP4 file size: 672 MB

I wouldn't have expected it to get larger?

1) Good to know it works :). The way it's currently set up though, you will lose
any 6-channel audio the original source may have (yours doesn't).

2) Yes, it's not surprising it grew larger: Your source sounds like it was a 30
minute show in medium quality. Effectively your source was around 640x480. Your
target (appleTV setting) converted it to a higher resolution at 3Mbps. So your
conversion 'seems' like it's a better quality than the source, but that's impossible
to do...

I think I'll change the AppleTV setting to be 1.5Mbps (which will hurt people that
are using a full HD source).. but I think it's a reasonable trade-off..

  Thank you

FYI, I'm in the process of transferring a hi-def file from Tivo (a whopping 13GB) at
the Apple TV setting to see how it goes. It's taking forever (partly because it's
coming across a wireless network), but I'll report back on the results.

What is the difference between the "Apple TV" setting and your other H.264 defaults, BTW?

You can look at the advanced tab to see all the differences
Mainly the quicktime settings preserve the original resolution, while the AppleTV
tries to fit it in 960x540 at 30 fps because that's one of their requirements.
