What Version of iTiVo?
TiVo HD

What Version of MacOS X?
10.6.1

What download format did you select?
Elgato Turbo.264

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have several items in the subscription list
2. A couple items appear in the Download Queue at once.
3. After the first item in the queue completes, the Episode information disappears in the rest.

Please provide any additional information below.

Seen the same thing problem, but with any file format I selected.

I've tried:

1. Decrypt/Copy
2. Decrypt
3. iPod touch Hi Res

It appears that after it does the first episode download, it then just closes the
episode name information. I do not see this problem if I were to select a show and
download one at a time.

Sorry, forgot to add in my information.

What Version of iTiVo?
TiVo 3

What Version of MacOS X?
10.6.1

What download format did you select?
Decrypt/Copy; Decrypt; iPod Touch Hi Res

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Selected multiple shows and add them to download queue.
2. Start downloading from queue. All episode name information is present.
3. First episode download completes with episode name.
4. Second episode download begins, but the queue window now has lost all episode name
information.
5. Downloaded second episode has only the show name and the ID # of the episode.

I am having the same issue.

I have the Turbo.264 Apple TV option selected.

I noticed that the episode information disappears from the Queue list after the first file completes, OR if you
remove any episode from the Queue list.

1. Select multiple episodes and add to Queue. Notice that they are added with the episode names showing
properly.
2. Select any episode in the Queue list. Click "Remove".
3. Notice that the episode names disappear from the Queue list. Now when iTiVo downloads the file, the
episode ID will be used for the file name, instead of the real episode name.

Step 1 - Add Shows to Queue.png
274 KB   View   Download
Step 2 - Select Episode in Queue.png
273 KB   View   Download
Step 3 - Click Remove and Notice that Episode Names are Gone.png
263 KB   View   Download

This problem was driving me nuts but I was able to download the source code and fix
the problem. I don't know how to get my changes back into this project as it seems
dormant (no changes from dev in many months). For anyone able to handle xcode, you
need to modify the iTiVo.applescript file and change the name of variable EpisodeVal
to showEpisode. Do NOT change any of the data cell titles in double quotes that also
are titled "EpisodeVal". This name confict is the source of the problem, I believe -
I'm no AppleScript guru so it took me awhile to find this solution. There should be
4 or 5 places in the code where you need to make this change. Just search for
EpisodeVal - if it is in quotes, don't touch it, otherwise rename it as I suggested.
 Good luck!

dcolace, any way I could get the compiled program from you? This is driving me CRAZY! Thanks!

dcolace, I would like to get a copy too! Right now I'm using the show IDs and manually changing the downloaded shows to their proper names.

Attached is the diff against trunk to fix this issue. Seems to be working for me, but YMMV.

I downloaded the source, installed Xcode, made the changes to iTiVo.applescript and tried to build. I got several errors about missing files. They seem to be copies of the executables used to do the real work (like tivodecode). I tried copying them into the appropriate directories and tried to build again. The build process deletes the files and then tries to copy them but it can't because it just deleted them. I'm missing something here. Does anyone have any pointers on how to rebuild iTiVo for an Xcode newbe?

I just copied them into the build location's resource directory and tried build again, and it worked for me. Don't recall the exact procedure.

Wow, what a pain to get it to build. OK, you have to copy:

 /Applications/iTiVo.app/Contents/Resources/AtomicParsley
 /Applications/iTiVo.app/Contents/Resources/comskip
 /Applications/iTiVo.app/Contents/Resources/mencoder
 /Applications/iTiVo.app/Contents/Resources/t2sami
 /Applications/iTiVo.app/Contents/Resources/tivodecode

Copy these files in to the "External Software" directory in your checkout of the source. Then you have to make sure you have Growl installed. Then you have to download a demo copy of Turbo.264 HD. Now, open it up in Xcode and depending on how and what you installed with Xcode, it may build and run. If you're like me and didn't install the 10.4 SDK, rather than installing that (I could care less if my build doesn't work for 10.4) you have to go in to (in Xcode) Project -> Edit Project Settings and change Base SDK to the SDK you do have installed. I have 10.6 installed so I changed it to 10.6.

That will build it without making the changes posted here. To make the changes posted here, you have to now (in Xcode) open Scripts -> iTivo.applescript and make the changes (there should be 7 instances to change). Save it and close then click "Build and Run".

Good Luck!

I can't even get the applescript to compile BEFORE making the changes, I get a "Expected end of line but found identifier." at line 74 which is "on awake from nib theObject".
OS X 10.6.7
Applescript Editor 2.3(118)
Applescript 2.1.2
Xcode 4.0.2 Build 4A2002a
using the 10.6 SDK

Yep, it is a shame too, as this is really the only bug I'm running into, but it takes a good bit of manual work to fix in iTunes later. The only other ask would be an encoder that really took advantage of parallel processing to use all the available cores OR for iTivo to be able to fire off multiple encodings at once.

Please-oh-please someone post the fix. Please? Pretty please?

I am way too much of a novice to fix this on my own. So as it sounds like this has been fixed by others, is any one able to post a recompiled version? This is driving me crazy.

I tried a number of things myself from directions on-line with no luck. I finally bailed on iTiVo and opted for kmttg, even though I prefer the much friendlier GUI in iTiVo
