This is a question about capabilities?

Can I open a LOCAL video file, on my mac not from my tivo, with itivo to utilize the comskip &
encoding capabilites? I have had no luck using comskip as standalone. If this can be done what
format would the video file need to be in? Mepg-2 ts
Thank you

No. iTiVo is not designed to be a local file editor. It's for downloading shows
from your tivo. All the surrounding stuff is fluff. And I don't see support for
editting local files being added in the future.

If you're absolutely set on using itivo, you *could* push your local file to your
tivo with pyTivoX, then download them back with iTiVo, enabling commercial-cut.
