| Issue 10: | Add an easy to use toggle button to switch to user's previous keyboard | |
| Back to list |
After trying out Indic Keyboards for entering indic text, many users want to switch back to their previous keyboard/input method like "Google keyboard" or other feature rich keyboards for entering roman text. While we thought that users would follow the same steps used for selecting Indic Keyboards to select their previous keyboard (i.e. open "Select input method" by either long pressing in the edit text or from the top status bar and then select their previous keyboard), I have seen users doing the following: * Go to "Settings", open "Language and input", unselect "IISc MILE Indic Keyboards", click "OK". OR Many users are asking for an easy toggle button in our keyboard itself. Provide following feature in Indic Keyboards: When "Settings" button (at the bottom left of Indic Keyboards) is clicked, in addition to showing supported indic scripts, provide an additional option at the end with the title of their previous keyboard. When users click on that, the input method would be switched to their previous keyboard.
