Same here. Is this a mono or a holly-gtk-widgets problem??

To view the components in Monodevelop toolbox you have too add the following attribute in each component class: "[System.ComponentModel.ToolboxItem(true)]" and recompile the Holly-Gtk-Widget code.

Issue 16 has been merged into this issue.

I'm using MonoDevelop 2.4 -- I'm also experiencing this issue. I saw on the go-mono forum that you're planning to work on it this weekend (10/30). Can you keep in the loop and let me know if I can help at all. I'm new to GTK#/C# and MonoDevelop but I'll do what I can. Thank you. michael@thedevel.com

Any updates?

Is this library still under development or has it been abandoned ?

I've "taken it over"; but the job of refactoring it, due to changes in Stetic/Monodevelop is huge and tedious. Given very little feedback / support I honestly can't say when I'll get back to that task. I had hoped it would be much more straight-forward.

I have attached objects.xml file which should be added to HollyLibrary as a Embedded Resource. If there is already objects.xml in the hidden folder gtk-gui, that old one should be deleted or replaced (exact path for objects.xml does not matter) When library is build, you can add HollyLibrary as a reference to GTK# projects. Widgets should appear in the toolbox automatically, no need to manual add them. I have tested changes in the MonoDevelop 2.4 and 2.6. PS. I am interested in contributing to the project, how can i join it ?

I'm about to test this, if it works; I'll love you.

It didnt work. In all fairness Im a complete noob. I downloaded the objects.xml file, I had to add the atk-sharp reference, then I built the library against .net 2.0 and when i tried to add it to a project, i got the same error. can you provide a working build?

mich...@thedevel.com I am a project maintainer; if you send your account/login to awilliam@whitemice.org I'll add you to this project.

I found the solution of this problem. I have created HollyLibrary which work with Monodevelop 2.4. Only issue I am facing is unable to set Icon for individual widget. If you want then I can upload my work.

Have you commited the fix to the repository?

toolbox is empty,how to get???

Im having trouble adding the dll to monodevelop. Is this project still maintained?
Apr 15, 2015
I don't think anyone is managing this project any longer. I'm having the same issue, so I'm attempting to build from source to investigate further. Unfortunately, there are multiple classes of the same name all under the same namespace. As a result, it won't build without an overhaul on namespaces. If I'm able to get it working I'll upload the zipped up solution.

I am an admin of the project, but no, i do not believe anyone works on it anymore. I don't do any Gtk# anymore; since Mono pretty much got taken over by Ximian and LINUX got relegated as a second-class platform. I will likely at least migrate the project to SourceForge before GoogleCode shuts down. The changes to Gtk# & monodevelop really broke Holly, so it needs a bit of refactoring. I am willing to add you as a project admin if you want to push changes to the repo.

It did indeed get relegated to a second-class citizen, which is unfortunate. Sure, you can add me as an admin. Do you prefer SourceForge vs Github or BitBucket? I'm fine with any of the above. Thanks for the response.

I assume your Sourceforge login is pcurtday? I have imported the project there and added you as a developer. https://sourceforge.net/p/holly-gtk-widgets/
