What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. I installed GOOGLE DESKTOP on a Windows XP machine. 2. Control Panel and CMD commands cease functioning. 3. I uninstalled GOOGLE DESKTOP. 4. Control Panel and CMD commands cease functioing. Note: Control Panel icons that are in fact folders (FONTS, etc.) continue to function as normal. Control Panel icons that are CPL files are not functioning. Additionally: Although COMMAND works in the Start -> RUN box, CMD does not. COMMAND runs amazingly slow at this stage, and will not function with some commands (CD works, DIR does not, for instance). What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Google Desktop 5.8.0809.08522-en-pb Windows XP Professional Please provide any additional information below. Nope. That is about it. GOOGLE desktop on my home PC (running Windows VISTA) works just fine. I prefer GOOGLE desktop to the Windows Sidebar... so I would really like to get this working on my work PC.
