By default maps created using the API have POI's that when clicked open a 'native' info window. The current API doesn't provide a way to close this native info window before opening a google.maps.InfoWindow.

This causes problems
- the user will have two simultaneous info windows open, while the native behavior is to automatically close the previous opened info windows
- google.maps.InfoWindow will get hidden underneath native poi info windows

It seems the only way to close a native infowindow is to hack the google.maps.InfoWindow.prototype

Marked as fixed.

This has been implemented in the experimental version of the API. Info windows automatically close when the user opens an info window for a base map icon, and vice versa.
