You need at least a Core i-7 machine with 8 cores and 8GB memory. Operation with less powerful machine is not guaranteed to be smooth.

Speech Instructions

  • User should give coomands in complete noise free environment. Also the pitch of the user should be higher than normal pitch to make sure the spoken command is recognized in one go.
  • The user has to be in the range (+- 60 degrees field of view) from the front of the Kinect and within 4 meters.
  • Once the robot has started listening for the first time, first you have to speak password so that robot can execute your actual commands. The valid commands are "Password" and "VIBOT SIX" (change the xml file for changing values).
  • Once the robot tells you that it is ready for command, give the actual commands. The possible commands are "Forward", "Backward", "Right", "Left", "Go", "Faster", "Slower" and "Stop".
  • For the "Forward" command, the speech recognition engine find the user beam angle and it rotates the robot by beam angle first in the direction of source and then move forward.
