issue 84
Reported by code-rev...@gtempaccount.com, Sep 24, 2009
Reported by Shawn Pearce <sop@google.com> on Mon Mar 09 17:58:08 PDT 2009
Source: JIRA GERRIT-99
Affected Version: 2.0.7
Environment: MSIE 6 SP3

When clicking sign-in for the first time on an SSL secured Gerrit instance,
MSIE 6 claims:

This page contains both secure and nonsecure items.

Do you want to display the nonsecure items?

Clicking No seems to have no impact on the UI, all icons are shown. Watching
the same events with Firebug in Firefox shows me that everything was requested
over HTTPS, so I'm not sure where MSIE is getting this "insecure" concept from.

IE 6 is a pretty ancient browser. Microsoft has released IE 7,
and has even now released IE 8. There is no point in supporting
a browser this old, that has this many problems.

Users should either upgrade to IE 7 or IE 8, or switch to an open
source browser which is more standards compliant, like Firefox 3
or Google Chrome.
