Issue 966: canonicalGitUrl is ignored?
Status:  Released
Owner: ----
Closed:  May 2011
Reported by francoisatwork@gmail.com, May 19, 2011
Affected Version: 2.1.6.1

I've got a git-daemon server running on my box:

  git clone git://localhost/git/mahara test

and I have put the following in my gerrit.config:

[gerrit]
	basePath = git
	canonicalWebUrl = https://reviews.mahara.org/
	canonicalGitUrl = git://reviews.mahara.org/git/

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have any effect. If you look at a change:

  https://reviews.mahara.org/#change,199

you will see that only "Anonymous HTTP" is offered in the "Download" section of "Patch Set 1" when you select "checkout":

  git fetch https://reviews.mahara.org/p/mahara refs/changes/99/199/1 && git checkout FETCH_HEAD

Am I confused about the way it works (i.e. I should submit a documentation patch) or is this a bug?

See the 'anon_git' config option.

Do you think that could be documented better or placed in a clearer spot (linked to from the canonicalGitUrl section?)?
