Why can't gerrit just use a SEPARATE log-in page like most web sites? This should fix this issue, and probably also issue 817 and issue 1304 ...

Its a good idea. I don't know what possessed me to write the login as a popup like that.

Someone just needs to fix my mistake. :-)

It would be great if Gerrit would save sessions too. We have it configured so we see our code reviews when on our internal net, regardless of whether we're logged in or not. It'd be nice to just stay logged in (so I don't have to login when I want to actually commit reviews). It seems like Gerrit times out after a while and I have to login again every day.

If I'm just not using the product correctly or there's a way to configure this, by all means, please let me know.

bcottel, just increase cache.web_sessions.maxAge on your server.

Yup, that did it. Thanks. For the record, we changed ours as follows (from the default of--24 hrs--I think?):

[cache "web_sessions"]
        maxAge = 60 d

The ' d' has to have a space between it and the 60, as we found out. So that's 60 days. Much nicer to not have to login every day...
