Issue 2625: Can't sign in to gerrit if password contains '?' character
Status:  Invalid
Owner: ----
Closed:  May 2015
Reported by ijeyant...@gmail.com, Apr 29, 2014
Affected Version: Gerrit 2.7.x

Steps to Reproduce :
===================
1. Go to the Login page in Gerrit
2. Key in '?' into the Password field and you'd see a popup (as attached).

What is the expected output?

If my password contains '?' as one of its characters, I should be able to key in without any popup that appears.

What do I see instead?

When I try to type it into the password textbox, a popup appears as attached showing the shortcut commands.

Workaround :
============
I type my password in a text editor and copy paste it into the password field.

Which type of authentication are you using? I tested with LDAP and I am able to type '?' in the password field without getting the shortcut pop up?

Is it possible that this issue is only happening in CollabNet's fork of gerrit?

This version is a collabNet fork of gerrit, did you raise this issue to them?

No answer from original poster after 1 year.

The issue with the collabNet fork should be addressed to CollabNet.
