Reported by Xavier Ducrohet <xav@android.com> on Thu Jun 18 17:10:57 PDT 2009
Source: JIRA GERRIT-230
Affected Version: 2.0.14

If git shows a commit as

modified: File1.java
renamed: File1.java -> File2.java

Gerrit should show the difference between new original file and the new one.
Currently it shows it as a brand new file making it harder to see what was
changed during the rename.

Gerrit already does renames and copies.

Can you point to an example where gerrit didn't identify a rename? Maybe its
just a parameter issue in the rename detection algorithm... your desktop using
a different value than the server, causing it to compute a different result.

I'm going to close this, but if you come up with a case, please add a comment that
describes it and we'll reopen and investigate.
