Issue 1676: Allow wildcards to select projects to watch, as in search
Status:  New
Owner: ----
Reported by nemow...@gmail.com, Nov 23, 2012
Issue 535 introduced a wildcard to watch all projects, but it should be possible to use the same rules as in search for the project selection:

If PROJECT starts with ^ it matches project names by regular expression. The dk.brics.automaton library is used for evaluation of such patterns.

When entering "^mediawiki/.*" as "Project Name" on https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/settings/projects , I get "Application Error: The page you requested was not found, or you do not have permission to view this page".

We would like to have the same functionality. Is it going to be applied once? Or are there any workarounds?

Nobody is working on this yet, but contributions are welcome.

To the clueless lurker (me): "mediawiki/" is proposed syntax, doesn't currently work. :) Is it already supported by the dk.brics.automaton library?
