Issue 1368: Copying text out of hterm copies literal newline, even when copying wrapped-around line
Status:  Invalid
Owner: ----
Closed:  May 2012
Reported by winst...@gmail.com, Apr 30, 2012
Affected Version: hterm

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Resize the hterm window to 80 columns.
2. Run: perl -e 'print "\n"; for (1..120) { print "x" } print "\n"'
3. Copy and paste the entire field of 120 x's that were printed into another program.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: The clipboard will contain 120 x'es. This is the behavior of xterm, gnome-terminal, etc.

hterm: The clipboard contains a newline after the first 80 x'es, even though no newline was printed to the terminal.

Please provide any additional information below.

There is no authoritative specification for this behavior, but it makes copy-and-pasting long command lines much more pleasant.
