If you think you are "Bar <foo@domain>" and your ssh key in Gerrit is associated with an account "Baz <foo@domain>" then when attempting to push you may get an error: "! [remote reject] (you are not committer foo@domain)" even though according to the gerrit log you actually are connecting as foo.

This error message should be more like:
"you [Bar <foo@domain>] are not committer [Baz <foo@domain>]"

[I'd expect same problem applies to author and tagger]

The fix was to:

gerrit> UPDATE account_external_ids SET email_address = 'foo@domain' WHERE email_address IS null AND external_id='gerrit:foo';

So I guess the problem stems from using 'gerrit create-account' without '--email'.
