Comment by Shawn Pearce <sop@google.com> on Tue Sep 08 09:51:26 PDT 2009 Colby says we might be able to work around this by creating a 1 pixel x 1 pixel PNG-8 image that is just a single transparent pixel, and use it repeated as the border with an alpha filter. This might work to get the table cell borders to be transparent when the cell is not in the active row. Also, the background color might need to be set in order to ensure the transparent pixel renders the way we want it to.

IE 6 is a pretty ancient browser. Microsoft has released IE 7, and has even now released IE 8. There is no point in supporting a browser this old, that has this many problems. Users should either upgrade to IE 7 or IE 8, or switch to an open source browser which is more standards compliant, like Firefox 3 or Google Chrome.

Recent changes to the layout in 2.1.2 have fixed this. It still looks better in a more modern browser, but it is now at least usable and not too horrible to look at in IE 6.
