I have many projects that allow directly pushing to a branch. Sadly, there is no way to be informed about the resulting update by Gerrit (neither via a hook nor via stream-events).

My work-around is to replicate every repo to localhost where C git can fire off the traditional post-receive hook. But this is icky.

An event/hook which informs of branch updates, either when a change is merged by gerrit, or when a branch is updated via a push would allow me to get rid of my mirror-to-localhost hack.

This has been implemented since 2.1.6 via 6cc1190d8f (Added support for ref-update events, 2010-10-06).

I think we can close this bug. :-)
