I've been experiencing a file descriptor leak resulting in brokenness similarly to what was described in issue92

Here's a snapshot of what I see right now (after which, I restart to get things sane again):

From that alone I can't say there is a leak.

You only have 128 pack files open. By default packedGitOpenFiles
is 128. That's matching what we have here.

However you have about another 128 files open, some of them
required by the JVM. gerrit.sh has set the ulimit to 256 (2x
packedGitOpenFiles), so we're really on the edge here. Its no
wonder the server runs out.

We probably need our ulimit to be about 128 higher than it is
right now. So really `2x packedGitOpenFiles + 128`.

In the mean time, try setting core.packedGitOpenFiles to 256 or
even 512.

I haven't seen this problem again since increasing packedGitOpenFiles.
