Affected Version:2.8.4-19-g4548330 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Check topic branch of any : master ((detached) 2. detached lacks a bracket 3. For example see topic in : https://review.openstack.org/#/c/183899/ What is the expected output? What do you see instead? A bracket should be included in the end Please provide any additional information below. shared a sample link to refer

No i know it is the name of topic which could be anything but it is not the case which is set by user in this case. it is by default set to "(detached" which is inappropriate Let me give you an example: 1.) https://review.openstack.org/#/c/200873/ 2.) use this command as it is from the checkout box: git fetch https://review.openstack.org/openstack/swift refs/changes/73/200873/1 && git checkout FETCH_HEAD 3) upload change using : git review -v Then the topic name uploaded is "(detached" which should be "detached". So, i am reopening this bug for more investigation. Please close this if you think it is no longer relevant.

The topic is not being set by Gerrit. It is being set by the git-review tool when it pushes the change. This behaviour seems to have been fixed in git-review with [1] which is included since version 1.24. Please check which version of git-review you are using. If it still doesn't work as expected, please raise it with the maintainers of git-review. [1] https://review.openstack.org/#/c/90466/ |
