Affected Version:
$ git --version
git version 1.7.2.5
$ cat /etc/issue

What steps will reproduce the problem?
$ git clone https://gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/All-Projects
Cloning into All-Projects...
error: Trying to write ref HEAD with nonexistant object 4cc2bdc4f0ab9095cb16c6dee6229f25aba6e9bb
fatal: Cannot update the ref 'HEAD'.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to see git cloning the software repository. :-)
