| Issue 19: | Apply regex in comments to create links to issue trackers | |

Reported by Shawn Pearce <sop@google.com> on Wed Jan 14 22:33:00 PST 2009 Source: JIRA GERRIT-19 Affected Version: 2.0 Projects may want to identify issue tracker keys in comments, like "(GERRIT-\d +)" and link them back to their issue tracking system. regex patterns can generally handle this for most issue tracking systems, but the pattern (and link expansion) may need to differ per-project in Gerrit.

Partially fixed by Ic6f00304628afc904f1c515405e800411464fcaa. In Ic6f0 the regex patterns are configured globally, for the entire site. This works for many configurations of Gerrit, but not all. For example the projects hosted by review.source.android.com use several different bug trackers and there is no easy way to write regex patterns which match one project's bug references but not another's.

We should also consider Marcel M. Cary's recent work for the same functionality in gitweb. Especially if we can use the same configuration, or pass ours down into our hosted gitweb: 0/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852536905753&w=2 1/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852577106156&w=2 2/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852537505761&w=2 3/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852536505747&w=2 4/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852576706152&w=2 5/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852536105739&w=2 6/6 http://marc.info/?l=git&m=125852576306146&w=2

Closing this because the initial bug description was resolved by Brad's change Ic6f00304628afc904f1c515405e800411464fcaa.
