Creating Android forms/gui is hell of work. I guess android should facilitate and exploit existing technologies, skills and tools to setup forms and gui. There are lots of layouts like table, frame, linear, grid etc. However using them require new skills and too many xml attributes and need to be done using trial and error as no proper GUI editor is available. Can android add something like htmllayout (I am not talking WebView) where there are only basic html elements and controls and html tables. The controls and table elements should still be accessed using ids, findViewById and onClick. Html tables and rows would make layout very stable, rich and easy to develop. It need not support all html features or even scripts. Like anchor should not support href but onClick only. Due to html editors available and html skills can be reused. Millions of html developers can quickly become android gui developers. I know lot of guys switching from Android to Mac or new Windows, due to intricacies of android layout xmls. I love java and do not want that to happen. htmllayout can just be added to existing arsenal of layouts. Thanks Achal
