| Issue 1618: | scp examples in documentation please add username@ part | |

It is common for SSH remote gerrit account usernames not to be the same as local usernames. It is not clear in the documentation that the gerrit account username should be used with 'scp' for example installing Change-Id hooks. For those with the same username locally and on gerrit specifying the username also works for them, even though the local username would be the default. i.e. it is a win-win to update the documentation examples globally to include username. This lowers support queries above these matters are the username is wrong and scp failing to work. example: scp -p -P 29418 username@review.example.com:hooks/commit-msg .git/hooks/

This link was forwarded to me by a college: http://gerrit.googlecode.com/svn/documentation/2.0/user-changeid.html The version of gerrit in use here is 2.5-rc1 and if I search the on-board documentation I do see usernames.

http://gerrit.googlecode.com/svn/documentation/2.1/user-changeid.html This also exists but manually changing the version higher does not provide any match. Maybe the filename changed ? Also the 2.0 page is the highest match in google search here for the terms "gerrit scp hooks" This may have been the original source of the URL cited to me. Anyhow it is good that the project has already been updated.

The 2.5 documentation is available at: http://gerrit-documentation.googlecode.com/svn/Documentation/2.5/user-changeid.html

Judging from the hosted documentation this should be fixed from 2.2.0 [1]. [1] http://gerrit-documentation.googlecode.com/svn/Documentation/2.2.0/user-changeid.html
